It features children’s fairy stories and Nursery Rhymes including

1902 - Old Maid - with Sporting Families

This is the game of Old Maid.


Each family consists of Grandparents, Parents and Children – ie – six members
Families each represent a sport ie Cricket, Tennis, Fishing and Football. There are different versions with different numbers of families.

This was one of the cheaper versions, in original box which could not hold any more cards.
The art work is lovely and the style of the period
Initailly produced for the 1902 Coronation –

1900-1920 Alice in Wonderland

An unusual and interesting snap game.
The telescopic box expands to show the Mad Hatter’s Top Hat, “This style 7/6d” – Alice in Wonderland is on the box.

The cards are very poor quaility card. The game consists of eight sets three cards – quite common about this period.

c1913 ' Sport - A Quartette Game - Spears

A quartette game that has 12 set of four cards, each set consists of one sport.

The actions are varied from
Football – Dribbling, On the run, A brilliant save, Well kicked
Swimming – A pleasant Swim, The Champion, A high dive, Off the springboard


The cards are bigger than normal cards (6.5 by 10.5 cms). Plain backs and slightly shiny fronts.

Condition – 48/48 – assumed complete – no rules or  box (photocopy of box lid available on request ) – one card a very light crease and one slightly grubby – probably the first card in the pack.

Happy Families – A Jouney Round the World.

This is a quarette game, which covers travel around the world. The art work is lovely and gives an insight into travel in the early 1900s.

Street scenes in Cairo, Niagara Falls wandering Tribes and Harbour Scenes all feature.

Condition –  The Globe Trotters – Complete / Cards are good -light use – one card has a damaged corner – that has been bent and is missing about 7mm by 4mm from the side / Rules original in good condition – with a description of travelling to get you in the mood

It was produced to promote Melox dog food.

Happy Families- cheap version of this popular game
